chiken gravy

Here is a recipe for a simple and tasty chicken gravy that goes well with roasted or baked chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. After you have roasted or baked your chicken, transfer it to a platter and cover it with foil to keep it warm.
  2. Pour the pan juices from the chicken into a small bowl or measuring cup and set aside.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the flour and whisk to combine, cooking for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned and bubbly.
  5. Gradually add the chicken broth and milk to the saucepan, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
  6. Continue whisking until the gravy thickens and comes to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
  7. Add the reserved pan juices to the gravy and whisk to combine.
  8. Simmer the gravy for 5-10 minutes until it is thick and creamy, stirring occasionally.
  9. Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Serve the chicken with the gravy drizzled over the top.

Enjoy your delicious chicken gravy!
